Whitfield Hanson is Dylan Whitfield and Henry Hanson. We started the firm in Doncaster in 2025, and it's still the two of us — which is the whole point.
Why we set it up
Most people don't leave their accountant over the numbers. They leave because an email went unanswered for a fortnight, or because the person who understood their business moved on and they had to explain it all over again to someone new.
We set up Whitfield Hanson so that wouldn't happen. There are two of us, we both know every client's file, and there's no reception desk between you and the person doing your accounts. If you ring, one of us picks up — and if we can't, you'll hear back the same working day.
The rest follows from that. Fixed fees rather than hourly billing, because nobody should be doing mental arithmetic before asking a question. Plain English rather than jargon, because a return you don't understand isn't much use to you. And filing early rather than in January, because knowing what you owe in October is worth something and knowing it on the 31st isn't.

How we work
One fixed fee
Agreed in writing before any work starts. No hourly rates, no surprise invoices at the end of a busy month.
Questions are free
However many. An accountant you're reluctant to ring is worse than no accountant at all.
Same-day replies
You'll hear back the same working day, from someone who already knows your file rather than someone reading it for the first time.
What we're registered and set up for
- HMRC-registered agents. We're authorised to deal with HMRC directly on your behalf, so you're not the one sitting in the phone queue.
- Already filing under Making Tax Digital. We've been submitting quarterly updates for clients since MTD went live in April 2026 — not reading about it, doing it.
- Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent. We work in whichever you're already on. If you're on a spreadsheet, or nothing, that's fine too.
- Whitfield Hanson Accountancy Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 16778779, incorporated 10 October 2025 and based in Doncaster.
Who we work with
Sole traders, landlords and small limited companies, mostly across Doncaster and the surrounding villages. A lot of trades — joiners, sparks, plasterers, groundworkers — which is why we do so much CIS. A steady number of landlords with one or two properties. And people who've just gone self-employed and aren't sure what they've taken on.
We're not the right firm for everyone. If you need a large team, international structuring or audit work, we'll say so and point you somewhere better rather than take the work and stretch.
